Hello, AG MAGers!
Welcome to Issue 8 – another edition packed full of farming, machinery, livestock and everything that makes agriculture such a fascinating industry.
You'll already have spotted the milestone tractor on our front cover. Fendt recently celebrated the production of its 50,000th 900 Vario, marking the occasion with a limited run of 300 special-edition tractors. It was a milestone we simply couldn't ignore.
This issue also sees the launch of a brand-new series called Under the Bonnet. Tractors are full of clever engineering, but what do all those pipes, shafts, filters and moving parts actually do? Over the coming issues, we'll lift the bonnet on one component at a time, beginning with the diesel engine.
We're also delighted to bring you an exclusive AG MAG interview with Anna May McHugh. For decades, Anna May has been one of the driving forces behind Irish agriculture and the National Ploughing Championships, and it was a real privilege to sit down and chat with her.
As always, there's plenty more to discover inside, including machinery, livestock, wildlife, horse care, science and safety. And don't forget to send us your photos for the AG MAG Readers' Club. Our favourite entries will be published in the magazine, and some will even win prizes!
Thanks, as always, for reading AG MAG. Enjoy Issue 8!
