Greetings, AG MAG readers, and welcome Issue #3!
Before I jump in, I hope you are all doing well and enjoyed Issue #2. We loved featuring the Ploughing Championships, and enjoyed it even more when we got to meet so many of you at it. Issue #2 was hot off the press so it was great to be able to give all our Ploughing customers an early look at the September/October edition. Of course, the highlight of the Ploughing for us was getting to hear your thoughts and feedback on AG MAG. We never enjoyed anything like it!
Now, onto Issue #3. Inside, you’ll get to hear how Sophie Bell has been busy on her family farm planning for brand-new sheds for her herd. Then it’s over to Eoin Lynch, who shares his dream Christmas wish list – from tractors to acres, he’s not asking for much … ahem!
Our Mad About Machinery feature takes a closer look at the mighty Bobcat, while Glyn Egan, a.k.a. the Sheep Shepherd, returns with the next instalment of his A-Z Guide for all young sheep farmers out there. Plus, we’ve got a Know Your Breed spotlight on the Irish Draught, the only native horse breed of Ireland, and a festive Turkey Special that’ll have you gobbling up the facts!
As always, you’ll find AG MAG teeming with puzzles, quizzes and fun farm facts – perfect for the shorter evenings ahead.
And don’t forget, AG MAG isn’t just any old magazine! Visit www.agmag.ie for bonus photos, videos and competitions – there’s always something new to explore.
As always, a big AG MAG thank-you to any teacher, parent or grandparent who helped get this issue into your hands. We’re delighted to have you on board.
Right! Go enjoy the read – and we’ll see you in 2026!
Stephen
